Nike released "LA Sketch"

nike recently released the "LA Sketch" t-shirt, which comes along a collector's edition box and 6 permanent ink markers to add colors onto the tee...as some prefer it to be all-white, some might prefer it to be colorful. well, i'd say it looks flaming hot both ways. some anonymous web stated it's retailing at £30. it's costly, but who gives a damn when u can have a tee somehow different than others?

kashmir boutique?

Danish band Kashmir recently launched its boutique for fans to purchase their merchandises, from normal t-shirt prints to posters to dvd to anything related to the band.

Kashmir's latest album No Balance Palace (2006) saw them lending vocals from superstars David Bowie and Lou Reed. Kalifornia, Cynic and Rocket Brothers (from their previous album Zitilities) are one of the many top singles of the quartet.

the band was previously known as Nirvana back in spring '91, before Kurt Cobain's version of Nirvana gained fame success in America, they switched their name to Kashmir, and started rocking the stage with their new name.

New Balance release Sandals....

somewhere in the world wide web i found out that New Balance recently released its new range of sandals in Japan. SD 574 comes in several colors, features the classic "N" on the side, and everything else looks exactly like a luxurious sandal. news has not revealed that they would release it worldwide. so until to extent, we only can sit and wait for it to come.

Bon FIRE! Bon FIRE!

one of the most potential hip hop act in Malaysia, KLG Sqwad hails all the way from Klang and are really proud of being a part of Klang homeboys, seeing the name KLG stands for KLANG in short, indeed. KLG Sqwad is one of the first multi-racial groups out there in the country - consisting of Ariff Azhar (Koncept83), Ng Chor Ming (Ming the Chin) and KokulaBalan (Vice Versa), backed by turntablist DJ Mel and AIM winner for Best Producer, D'Navigator.

once in awhile, you can catch the trio hanging out in the local clubs, either to chill out with their homeboys, or rocking on-stage providing supportive crowds with their recent hit on local radio stations, Amplify, which were seen climbing and maintaining in the charts for quite a while. the song was played once at Laundry Bar by DJ Nesh. WHOO! i hate to admit, but the crowd was really GROOVING when the song was played. even the negros started to shake shake shake.

KLG Sqwad, signed under former Too Phat one-half, Joe Flizzow's record label, Kartel Records, will be releasing their debut album pretty quite soon this year, as told by one of its members when met in the AF1 launch party. the trio have performed with various local big shots including RnB icon Reshmonu, hip hop veteran Too Phat, dikir barat rappers Ahli Fiqir, indie hip hop outfit Teh Tarik Crew, Canadian freestylist Vandal, the producer behind Coco Lee and Evonne Hsu Terry Lee, rockers Pop Shuvit and many many more.

here's what ChannelV's AMP gotta say about them.

so, let's go Bon Fire! Bon Fire! Bon Fire!

The Ferns, one of 25 Best Bands in MySpace named by Rolling Stones

The Ferns, a Malaysian indie-rock/pop outfit, turned internationally recognized when rock magazine Rolling Stones announced the Best 25 Bands in MySpace last December. The Ferns are one of the two Malaysian bands among the 25. The other one is indie-rock Couple.

The Ferns's first album, On Botany, received a numerous magnificent reviews from the local media, The Star and Think Online to name a few. but let's face the fact, sometimes media can be slightly misleading. but not in this case. the band really has got what it takes to be named one of the best 25. Disaster Strikes Again caught me in a shocking mode when i listen to it. the rhythm is good, the vocals just made me sang along, the clap was really convincing, solo were pretty clean....

track listing:
1. this sweet refrain
2. disaster strikes again
3. wistful thinking
4. the western front
5. dear derelict
6. love in a handful of beans
7. i won't forget
8. citadel
9. death of a lifetime
10. when we die

i'm not really too sure where to get their albums, but, i'm sure there is one when you want one. for more info on the band, you know where to find em'...... don't act stupid... oh for fucking sakes!! MySpace, you freaking cunt! not a good reader...not a good one.

Yours Truly, Angry Mob

finally! after a long wait over two years for their new album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob finally is out since two months ago. i don't know about you, but, you know how it is when you listen to the same ol' tracks over and over and over and over again, and then, you get something new to listen and you're like, "WHOAAAA!!!!"...well, that's here for my case. i told myself, "finally! enough of everyday i love you less and less and i predict a riot, here comes RUBY!"

it's Kaiser Chiefs here we are talking about. english new wave rock outfit is well-recognized among the indie rock scene with their top singles, which have seen rocking the crowd in the clubs. their first single from the new album, Ruby has already hit #1 spot in the charts not too long after the release. you will soon be listening to their second single, Everything Is Average Nowadays soon in the radio, hopefully. cos' we know malaysian radio stations HARDLY ever play any indie rock stuffs.

Kaiser Chiefs had won numerous awards in 2006, some including Best Brit-Rock Act, Best British Live Act, Best British Group, Best Album and Best Dressed for frontman Ricky Wilson.

for those who don't know Kaiser Chiefs - a radio-friendly, hook-ridden electronic rhythm rock band.

SirGila.K says: Yours Truly, Angry Mob is a great come-back for Kaiser Chiefs, in fact, a wonderful come back...but i think they are way potentially better than that... try harder, chiefs!

scratch that shit, mr. DJ!

finally! we got our hands on a visual demo from one of our homeboys back in Kuala Lumpur, still-rocking-hard-yet-laying-low DJ B.2WO, formerly known as DJ ONE6T2 (probably just a moniker for a side project like shinoda) from Malaysia's underground hip hop outfit, Da Joint, presented us this 2 minutes 27 seconds video uploaded on youtube, showcased a string of freestyle scratchings, exclusively original creations from DJ B.2WO himself. watch the fingers as it moves back and forth and again, it does just enough to make you drool on the smoothness of the movements. well, at least, it's the first of its kind from the average count of untyteld so far. something aside from post-rock and experimental and avant-garde shits. without further or do, let the visual speaks for itself....view it below. say no more, SCRATCH THAT SHIT, MR. DJ!

a big "thank you" slap for Eugene to leak us this source.

***we have spoken to B.2WO on the difference between the two monikers, and resulted that ONE6T2 is no longer his stage moniker as his fans are having troubles to pronounce its name, therefore, B.2WO (pronounced as B2) is the new moniker for him.***

untyteld 10-in-a-post...

there's just so much that we can talk about this wide music scene we have in this multi-genre world of musical environment, so what this 10-in-a-post does is recommending ten albums that's worthwhile to listen to. admin feels the need of sharing some of his library collection to spread the love of music. and so it does to help us to exchange knowledge to one another, you are welcome to post up any recommendations that you think it's worthwhile to listen to, or perhaps maybe, your all-time favorites if you insist, in the feedback box. so...here it goes...oh fyi, the numbers doesn't relate to which is the best or the worst.. it's just numbers... so fuck that shit...

1) Sonic Youth - Destroyed Room: B-Sides and Rarities

shortly after releasing their latest album, Rather Ripped, avant-garde experimental noise rock band Sonic Youth released a whole obscure compilation of its rare singles and japanese import bonus tracks, to their hardcore fans. well, my opinion, this b-sides held me up for the spirit for experimental noise rock once again. i thought of settling down with mellow-tuned Rather Ripped, but after listening to this b-side compilation, i just told myself that this might be one of the best albums for year 2007 (well, it was released sometime in december, but i count it in 2007...)... hope this would not be their last album eventhough rumours spread it will be their last one with Geffen. i don't know. let's wait and see what happens. say hello to noise fellas.

2) TV On The Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain

new york avant-garde indie rock outfit's second album, Return to Cookie Mountain blends free jazz + acappella + trip hop + electro + space-gazing, it's just simply transforming the whole idea of indie rock to another level i guess. this blend is still pretty new to me, so i'm really trying very hard to get along with em', anyway, if you're one of the kind who loves slow-evolving tunes with loud choruses, like mogwai and sigur ros to name a few of em', TVOTR is one suitable outfit to check out.

3) Red Sparowes - Every Red Heart Shines Towards The Red Sun

LA post rock outfit Red Sparowes' released their new album, Every Heart Shines Towards The Red Sun, a follow up after At The Soundless Dawn in 2005. the quintet compromises current and former members of Isis, Neurosis, Halifax Pier, Samsara, Angel Hair and Pleasure Forever. one good instrumental/experimental rock band to check out, if you're up for something more heavier with distortions and heavy drums.

4) Russian Circles - Enter

Chicago-based three piece instrumental rock/metal band, Russian Circles, is something little different the bands recommended today. instrumental too, but it's more on heavy metal. something pretty similar to one of my all-time favorites, Pelican. formed in 2004 by mike sullivan and colin dekuiper, both formerly from Dakota, later recruited dave turncrantz of riddle of steel. Russian Circles are well-known for their energetic spirit and improvisation of their music live on stage. one good thing about watching live gigs are the improvisation done by the bands, which is something you can't listen to in their recorded albums. self-released a self-titled album then, and recorded Enter under Flameshovel Records.

5) Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank

the fifth full-length album of american indie rock group, Modest Mouse, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank. they have been around since 1993 and still rocking hard. ever since the last album brought them to radio hit and airtime on VH1, the follow up album sure brings full of excitement to their fans, waiting for some surprises and some new beats to groove with.

6) Joanna Newsom - Ys

Joanna Newsom, the uniqueness of her voice being highly compared among artists like Bjork, Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple. Ys was recorded by some of the big guns that have produced albums for Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth and Tortoise. This is her second studio albums - she had a couple of self-released albums and EPs on the line too. Emily from Ys was listed 9th on the website's top ten tracks 2006.

7) Built to Spill - You In Reverse

if you're into rock, then you won't have any doubts on Built to Spill's sixth album, You In Reverse. just like any other indie rock bands out there, the album contains tracks that suits to drown your sorrows, as well as some that makes you jump. some of the influences of bts music were dinosaur jr, neil young, pavement, death cab for cutie and modest mouse, among others. yes! one good example. if you know and love death cab for cutie, then you'll love this album as much as you love dcfc's....trust me! it's worth it!

8) Califone - Roots & Crown

try a little change of music for awhile, Califone should be the right deal for you. post rock / folk blues / electronic pop outfit has various of genres in this album - ranging from pop to electronic to experimental rock to folk to blues. the guitar works are pretty amazing - not the best, but it's good.

9) Gomez - How We Operate

Gomez is an English indie rock band from Southport. compromising ian ball, olly peacock, tom gray, paul blackburn and ben ottewell. this is the seventh album from them, and there's also an album of b-sides released not too long ago. here's a band with more rhythmic vibes if you're looking for something ease-to-listen. this is nothing close to death cab nor alexi murdoch. it's in between, i guess. remember, recommendations here are worthwhile to listen to. believe it.

10) Menomena - Friend and Foe

here's one good example of experimental music with vocals. all the way from portland, Menomena consists of guitars, bass, keyboards, glockenspiel, baritone sax, alto sax and percussion. great music, weird music, it's just so well blended. check em' out. you might like it. i got this album because of its cover. but not noticing the music's pretty darn good too. don't think u can get to listen to all this kinda music in your local clubs, except for venues which REALLY FOCUSES on indie experimental stuffs... then you MIGHT.

well, hope you enjoy your read and found something that you really really like. and hopefully, you found yourself the interest of loving some other genres aside from hip hop and pop music.
