THOR

As long as I can remember, I've absolutely hated action movies. They're meant to entertain, but for some reason, I was always scared of them. I think it was mainly the special effects; the blood, the gunshots, the loud sound, and of course, the whole recurring the-human-race-is-going-to-end theme. And yes, I am well aware that these factors are what define an action movie.

I'm just not into it. I like chick flicks and musicals.

Although I do have a very extreme Type A personality (as in lieterally every character that Katherine Heigl has ever portrayed, hence the picture), and I love being black-and-white and all-or-nothing about everything, I'm the first to admit that there are exceptions to every rule I apply to my life. For example, I am strongly against eating meat, but I eat fish. Let's face it- life without sushi would be horribly, horribly empty.

Last night, at about 1:30 AM EST, I found yet another exception to one of my many, many rules. I was being extremely clingy last night, and I didn't want to be alone. It definitely didn't help that my roommate Katherine (of As Always, Kat) has yet to return to FIT. So, I went to see my boyfriend, who was planning to see the midnight showing of THOR. Ugh, action.

Well, it took about an hour or so of sitting in the large Chelsea theater to realize that I was actually enjoying the movie. WHAT?! Me? Action? Um, that doesn't happen.... But, as I explained via the pescatarian story, there are always exceptions, which I tend to forget.

I really, really loved THOR. I have absolutely no idea WHY Natalie Portman is in literally every movie these days, but nevertheless, it was simply incredible. In fact, I'm actually excited for The Avengers!

In conclusion, there are always exceptions. If you're a crazy, obsessive, hardcore Type A like I am, then please, RELAX, and realize that it doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. Just take a moment to enjoy what you like, and you'll be far happier. That's definitely my new goal. Let's see how long this lasts.

P.S. Look forward to a somewhat random post/list tomorrow about my all-time favorite movies! :)
